Bernhard Bergbauer
Bernhard Bergbauer studies astrology since 1990 and opened his own practice in 2002. Unsatisfied with the results he could get with the modern methods, he found his way to horary and traditional astrology. Traditional doesn’t mean a dogmatic view of the ancient sources as irrevocable truth, but to examine the basics and principles of the celestial science and test their applicability in “the real world”. Even our ancestors didn’t have a “perfect astrological system” as some modern classical astrologers claim. “The older the source, the more it’s content is true” is a dangerous guiding principle which is not followed by Bernhard. While modern astrology is just a sad caricature of the once highly developed science and therefore “back to the roots” is necessary, practical applicability as well as verifiability of the techniques are his final acid-test. Bernhard has published articles in “The Mountain Astrologer”, published the traditional magazine “Astrologia Restaurata” from 2005 till 2008 and is author of the book “Der Geburtsherrscher im Horoskop” (Lord of the Geniture-Compass of the soul. Available in German only). Aside from his practice he lecturers internationally and owns his own school for traditional astrology, the “Academia Astrologiae”. His main interest is traditional medical astrology.
Oscar Hofman
Oscar Hofman got in touch with the psychology of Jung at some point in time and followed an education in that direction. The further he got with it, the more it repelled him. He had
the definite feeling of being led on the wrong path here. Therefore he stopped and followed John Frawley's courses in horary and natal astrology (Horary Craftsman and Craftsman
Astrologer). He runs his own practice in which mainly, but not exclusively, horary questions are asked. Clarity and concision are of paramount importance for him and waffle is strictly
forbidden. He has a particular interest for medical astrology and the spirituality of our art, which in his eyes is the true motivation for doing astrology at all. He runs correspondence
courses in horary and medical astrology via email. A revitalisation of the traditional body of thought is really needed to protect our art from being submerged in modern confusion.
Together with George van Zanten, he is the publisher of “Anima Astrologiae”, the Dutch magazine for traditional astrology.
